All records in WIN are protected from unauthorized access through appropriate administrative, physical, and technical safeguards. These safeguards include restricting access to those with a need to know to perform their official duties, using locks and alarm devices, passwords and/or encrypting data communications.

USE CONSTRAINTS

Users of Warrant Information System will be restricted to only those privileges necessary to perform assigned tasks.

AGENCY PROGRAMS

The United States Marshals Service is charged with ensuring the effective operation of the judicial system through the execution of Federal arrest warrants, parole violator warrants, Federal custodial and extradition warrants, and the investigation of fugitive matters, domestic and foreign, involving escaped Federal prisoners, probation, parole, mandatory release, and bond default violators. Warrant Information System is an information system tool used to accomplish this.
