Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect Captured by U.S. Marshals Task Force

Jackson, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest of Tony Darnell Jones, 26, of Jackson, for Attempted First Degree Murder. Jones, who was wanted by the Jackson Police Department, was arrested in Memphis by the U.S. Marshals Service.
On December 15, 2021, around 1:30 p.m., Tony Jones was allegedly involved in a shooting in the parking lot of Lowe’s Home Improvement at 2071 S. Highland Ave. The shooting transpired from an argument that began at the drive-through of a Long John Silver’s at 1671 S. Highland Ave.
On December 16, the Jackson Police Department issued a warrant for Jones for Attempted First Degree Murder. This case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) in Jackson, TN.
On the morning of February 9, the TRVFTF out of Jackson and Memphis apprehended Jones at an address in the 900 block of Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN. Jones was taken into custody without incident. He will be transported back to Jackson to face charges.
The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The Western Tennessee Division of the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
