Cleveland, OH – Early yesterday morning, members of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Roberto Chillon, 26.  Chillon was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder.

On Sunday, January 4, 2026, Cleveland Police responded to the Metro hospital area for reports that a male victim had been shot.  While officers searched for the victim, they learned that he had been shot while driving his car in the area of Fulton Rd. The victim, Jason Bond, 22, then crashed his vehicle in the area of West 25th St. at the off ramp from I-71. The victim was able to make it to Metro hospital but died a short time later.

Early yesterday members of the task force were able to locate Chillon at a home in the 12900 block of West Sprague Rd. in Cleveland.  He was taken into custody by the task force without incident.  However, during the arrest narcotics and weapons were located.  Cleveland Police responded to the scene to complete a search warrant at the home.  By the end of the afternoon, ammunition for handguns and rifles, narcotics, marijuana, over $24,000 in U.S. currency, a drum magazine, and five handguns were recovered.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “This criminal took one life and could have killed more with his complete disregard for life in this shooting. With a criminal history like he has, the Federal system will be taking a very close look into adding federal gun charges onto the list of charges he already faces.  His violence and dangerous weapon possession have no place in our community.”
