Jackson, TN – United States Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest of Randall Lee Rose, 58, for First Degree Murder by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Jackson Police Department.
On Sept. 27, 2021, Randall Lee Rose allegedly killed Mary Kelly at 2051 Hollywood Drive and fled on foot before law enforcement arrived on scene. A convicted sex offender, Rose cut off an ankle monitor that night, and it was discovered on railroad tracks near the scene.
Jackson Police Department issued a warrant for Rose for First Degree Murder. This case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Task Force. In the weeks following the murder, Marshals cleared numerous buildings on and near the Hollywood Drive area.
On October 20, 2021, Task Force Investigators received information that Rose was hiding out at one of the many buildings located on the former Bruce Hardwood Flooring Company on Williams Street. At approximately 8:45 a.m. today, U.S. Marshals and members of the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force Special Operations and Criminal Investigation Divisions, along with air support from Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force’s helicopter, surrounded a small office building located in the middle of the property and apprehended Rose without incident. Rose was in possession of a handgun believed to be taken during a recent burglary.
"Teamwork between the U.S. Marshals Service and the Jackson Police Department was really key in leading to the capture of Randall Rose," said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller. “Hopefully, the community can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that he is in custody.”
