Cleveland, OH

CLEVELAND – Early this morning, members of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) attempted to arrest Ke’Yon Sanchez Moore, 20.  Moore was wanted by Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated robbery.

At approximately 8am, officers arrived at the home in the 3500 block of East 120th St. They were able to confirm that Moore was in the home in the second and third stories of the residence.  Over a period of more than four hours, officers deployed chemicals into the home along with robots and drones.  At two separate times, Moore fired multiple rounds at the police robots and towards officers. Negotiators attempted to gain a surrender from Moore throughout the incident.  The Cuyahoga County SWAT Team deployed to the area to assist as well.  At approximately 1pm, another gun shot was heard from inside the home.  Officers were able to confirm that Moore had shot himself and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Medical personnel on scene immediately confirmed this information.  No officers or civilians were injured during this incident.
