Louisville, KY – This afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals led Western Kentucky Fugitive Task Force and the Louisville Metro Fugitive Unit arrested Robbie Cayson, 37. Cayson was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder.

On September 29, 2021, officers with the 4th District - Cleveland Division of Police responded to an address in the 11700 block of Lenacrave Ave. for a shooting. When officers arrived, they located two victims that had suffered gunshot wounds to the head. Diontae Wallace, 35, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced on scene by EMS. The second victim, Jovana Brown, 33, also suffered a gunshot wound to the head but survived after being treated at University Hospital. After an investigation led by the Cleveland Division of Police, homicide unit, it was determined that Cayson was involved in this deadly shooting and a warrant was issued for his arrest on November 18, 2021.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force adopted the fugitive investigation for Cayson in November of 2021 and vetted dozens of investigative leads and spent endless man hours investigating his whereabouts. Information was developed recently that indicated Cayson had fled Ohio and was possibly residing in Louisville, Kentucky. This afternoon, members of the Western Kentucky Fugitive Task Force and the Louisville Metro Fugitive Unit arrested Cayson at an address in the 1400 block of Hazel Street, Louisville, Kentucky. As task force members were attempting to arrest Cayson, he provided a fake name to evade arrest.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “This arrest sends a clear message that violent fugitives cannot evade justice by fleeing to other states. The U.S. Marshals Service remains committed to pursuing individuals who pose a threat to public safety and ensuring they are held accountable for their actions. We thank our counterparts from the Western Kentucky Fugitive Task Force for their assistance in this arrest of a fugitive that has been on the run for nearly 5 years.”
