Task Force Captures Escaped Gibson County Inmate

Jackson, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announced today the capture of Joshua David Hughes who was wanted by the Gibson County Sheriff's Office for escape. Hughes, who was an inmate of the Gibson County Criminal Justice Complex, escaped while on a work detail earlier this week. The Gibson County Sheriff's Department requested assistance from the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in locating Hughes. Late yesterday evening the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force located Hughes at hotel in the 1900 block of Hwy 45 bypass in Jackson, Tennessee. Hughes was taken into custody without incident and was returned to Gibson County. "The Marshals Service always stands ready to assist our partners whenever we're needed," said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller. "I'm glad we were able to quickly apprehend this escapee and return him to Gibson County."

The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) has offices in Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. The West Tennessee office consists of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Investigators with the Jackson Police Department, Agents with the Tennessee Department of Correction, Investigators with the Memphis Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff's Office and Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
