Tips Lead to Arrest of Fugitive of the Week in Hopkinton

Concord, NH – This morning, members of the U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force arrested "Fugitive of the Week," Padraic Ryan Bean in Hopkinton, Hampshire.

Padraic Bean, 47 years-of-age, who was known to have ties in both the Conway and Concord, NH areas, was just featured last week as the "Fugitive of the Week." Mr. Bean was being sought on an arrest warrant alleging three violations of a domestic violence related court order. Bean has a criminal history that includes stalking, assault, narcotics, manslaughter (x3) and resisting arrest. This extensive criminal history caused the US Marshals Service to put the apprehension of Mr. Bean as a top priority.

As part of this search for Mr. Bean, he was featured as the "Fugitive of the Week" on June 23rd. This feature was aired on WTPL-FM, WNTK-FM, WTSN-FM, WEMJ-FM, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, The Rochester and Lebanon Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The "Fugitive of the Week" continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of over 500 fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the "Fugitive of the Week" was distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers in New Hampshire.

As a result of this media feature, several anonymous tips were received pointing investigators to multiple locations in Hopkinton, NH. This morning, members of the U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force conducted surveillance of a residence on Hawthorne Hill Road in Hopkinton. After watching this residence for a short time, Mr. Bean was observed outside the residence smoking a cigarette. Investigators were able to move in and arrest Bean without incident. Mr. Bean was transported to the Merrimack County Jail for processing and holding pending his initial court appearance.

U.S. Marshal Nick Willard said, "The Fugitive of the Week program continues receive an incredible amount of information from members of the public who want to ensure the safety of their communities." Willard continued, "Today's arrest of Mr. Bean is a perfect example of the public, media and law enforcement working together for our common goal of community safety."

Since the inception of the U.S. Marshals - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 8,218 arrests (Updated as of 12/16/2020). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
