Two Suspects Arrested in Connection with Juvenile Kidnapping

Montgomery, AL - Members of the U.S. Marshals Service for the Middle District of Alabama, working with the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force’s Montgomery Office, arrested two suspects wanted in connection with the kidnapping of a juvenile from Enterprise, Alabama.
On July 22, 2026, the juvenile was safely recovered by officers with the Enterprise Police Department and the Montgomery Area Metro Crime Reduction Unit following an intensive law enforcement response.
After arrest warrants were issued, members of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Shamarco S. Moore and Kiara O. Avery on Castle Ridge Road in Montgomery. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and transferred to the custody of the Enterprise Police Department.
“The successful recovery of this child and the swift apprehension of those responsible demonstrate what can be accomplished when law enforcement agencies work together with a shared mission,” said Acting U.S. Marshal M. Dante Gordon. “Let this serve as a clear message to anyone who chooses to harm or prey upon a child: You will be relentlessly pursued, you will be found, and you will be held accountable for your actions.
Protecting our children remains one of our highest priorities, and we will continue to stand alongside our law enforcement partners to ensure those who commit these crimes are brought to justice.”
The arrests highlight the strong partnerships among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies committed to protecting children and holding violent offenders accountable.
