U.S. Marshals and Law Enforcement Partners Conduct Fugitive Sweep in Lafayette Area; 28 Arrested

Lafayette, LA - The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Western District of Louisiana Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) successfully conducted Operation Golden Eagle, a multi-agency fugitive apprehension initiative executed on March 10, 12, and 13, 2026.

As a result of this coordinated enforcement effort, 28 fugitives were arrested across Lafayette Parish, St. Martin Parish, and Iberia Parish. The arrests stemmed from a variety of state and federal felony warrants, including charges related to attempted murder and the distribution of narcotics.

The U.S. Marshals Service extends its appreciation to all participating agencies for their professionalism, coordination, and continued commitment to public safety.

The USMS Violent Offender Task Force remains dedicated to reducing violent crime and improving community safety throughout the Western District of Louisiana, in accordance with its core values of Justice, Integrity, and Service.
