U.S. Marshals Arrest Florida Parents Wanted for Murder of 7-Week-Old Daughter

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Marshals in Jacksonville, Florida, on Aug. 7 arrested a man and woman wanted in Broward County for the October 2025 murder of their 7-week-old daughter.

Robert Lee Ingram Jr. and Gracie Jai Tellez were charged July 27 in Broward County with aggravated manslaughter of a child and neglect of a child following a Hollywood, Florida, Police Department investigation.

On Oct. 14, 2025, emergency responders were dispatched after Tellez called 911 reporting that her infant daughter was cold, pale, and unresponsive.  Hollywood police officers and paramedics responded to Tellez’s residence and performed CPR on the child before transporting her to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.  

Both parents initially told investigators that their child had been acting normally, had been fed a bottle, and was placed in her bassinet for a nap shortly before being discovered unresponsive.  

Detectives interviewed the parents, searched the residence with consent, and documented the scene while medical staff reported the infant was in critical condition with signs of possible internal bleeding.

On Oct. 18, 2025, the child was declared brain dead and later died after ineffective organ donation procedures.  

The Broward County Medical Examiner ultimately ruled the cause of death to be complications of blunt head trauma and classified the manner of death as homicide. Homicide investigators concluded Tellez and Ingram were directly responsible for the child’s death, and the Circuit Court of the 7th Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Florida issued arrest warrants July 27 for Tellez and Ingram. 

The U.S. Marshals Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force (FCRFTF) in Fort Lauderdale adopted the fugitive investigation July 29 and on Aug. 7, after developing information that the pair had left Broward County and relocated to Jacksonville, sent a collateral lead to FCRFTF – Jacksonville.

The FCRFTF–Jacksonville team located Tellez and Ingram at a residence in the 1300 block of Marsh Grass Court and arrested them without incident. They were transported to the Duval County Jail where they were processed and booked.  

The U.S. Marshals have a long history of providing assistance and expertise to other law enforcement agencies in support of fugitive investigations. The success of U.S. Marshals task force initiatives, combined with the outstanding relationships forged with other law enforcement agencies, has led to the formation of permanent fugitive task forces, as well as ad-hoc task forces in response to unique cases that pose immediate threat to the public. In 2025, U.S. Marshals Service-led fugitive task forces arrested over 73,000 federal, state and local fugitives and cleared nearly 88,000 warrants.
