U.S. Marshals Arrest Man Wanted for Murder of 17-Year-Old

Cleveland, OH – Today, members of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Kevin Wright, 20, who was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, on January 2, 2024, officers from the 4th District responded to the area of the 6800 block of Fleet Ave. and discovered a 17-year-old male, unconscious and laying in the street. Preliminary investigation indicated that the victim was allegedly struck by a moving vehicle and then shot in the head. Kevin Wright was later identified as a suspect in this fatal incident and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Today, members of the NOVFTF arrested Wright in the 4300 block of E. 164th Street, Cleveland. Wright initially attempted to evade officers on foot but was quickly apprehended.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “For over two decades, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Cleveland Division of Police have been working together to combat violent crime in the City of Cleveland by taking violent fugitives like this off the street.”
