U.S. Marshals Arrest Rhode Island Fugitive In Maine

Portland, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), Maine Violent Offender Task Force (MVOTF) announces the arrest of Tyler Perry, 29, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

On Thursday, March 14th, Perry was arrested on warrants from the Burrillville, Rhode Island, Police Department for two counts of felony assault, reckless driving, possession of narcotics, obstruction, and disorderly conduct. It is alleged that Perry was the operator of a motor vehicle where two Burrillville Police Officers were dragged a short distance following a routine traffic stop by the officers.

The USMS, Rhode Island Fugitive Task Force provided investigative leads to the USMS MVOTF requesting assistance in locating and apprehending Perry in Maine.

Through a collaborative law enforcement effort, authorities developed information which led investigators to New Portland, ME. Task Force members were able to identify Perry as a passenger in a motor vehicle and were able to safely apprehend him without incident in Turner, Maine with the assistance of the Androscoggin County Sheriffs Department.

Perry is charged as a Fugitive from Justice and will be arraigned in Maine pending his extradition back to Rhode Island.

The USMS, Maine Violent Offender Task Force received significant assistance by the USMS, Rhode Island Fugitive Task Force, and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office. 

U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Department of Corrections, Biddeford Police Department, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
