U.S. Marshals Capture Memphis Fugitive in Grenada, Mississippi

Oxford, MS – Tra-Shawn Robinson, 26, was arrested in Grenada, Mississippi on November 19, 2025, after a fugitive investigation conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS). Robinson was wanted by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated assault, domestic assault with bodily harm, aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and vandalism.
On October 24, 2025, felony warrants were issued for the arrest of Tra-Shawn Robinson out of Shelby County, Tennessee. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in locating and apprehending Robinson. The Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force developed information that Robinson had fled the Memphis area and traveled to Grenada, Mississippi and requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force of Northern Mississippi in capturing Robinson.
On November 19, 2025, Deputy U.S. Marshals of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force tracked Robinson to a residence in the 174th block of West Monroe Street in Grenada. With the assistance of the Grenada County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Winona Police Department K9, and Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks Unit, law enforcement surrounded the residence and demanded Robinson exit. Robinson then barricaded himself within the residence and refused to surrender to law enforcement. After several hours, US Marshals entered the structure and located Robinson lying in a bathtub with a machete style knife and numerous lacerations to his arms. Robinson was taken into custody and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further medical care.
The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) began operations in July of 2006 and was among the first Regional Fugitive Task Forces to become fully operational following the Presidential Threat Protection Act of 2000. The GCRFTF has partnership agreements with over 61 federal, state, and local agencies and has 8 fully operational offices. The GCRFTF has successfully apprehended over 70,800 fugitives since its inception and has made an extraordinary impact on the apprehension of the region’s most dangerous and violent fugitives, always striving to make their communities safer.
