U.S. Marshals Capture Mississippi Murder Suspect in Sallisaw, Oklahoma

Oxford, MS – Carnelius Hudson, 34, was arrested in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on August 10, 2026, after a fugitive investigation conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS). Hudson was wanted by the Ruleville Police Department for the alleged murder of a Ruleville woman. 

On the morning of August 10, 2026, the Ruleville Police Department received a call for service for an unresponsive female located at her residence near the 300 block of Oscar Street in Ruleville, Mississippi. Upon arrival, law enforcement located a deceased female with apparent stab wounds and lacerations to her body. A few hours later, a murder warrant was issued by the Ruleville Police Department for the arrest of Carnelius Hudson. The Ruleville Police Department then requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Services, Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) in locating and apprehending Hudson. The GCRFTF developed information that Hudson had fled Mississippi and traveled to Sallisaw, Oklahoma. The GCRFTF then immediately requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals, Eastern District of Oklahoma (E/OK) in locating and apprehending Hudson.

That afternoon, the United States Marshal Service located Hudson at a motel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. U.S. Marshals conducted surveillance at the motel and positively identified Hudson leaving in a vehicle. A short while later, U.S. Marshals took Hudson into custody without incident. Hudson was transported to the Sequoyah County Jail for further processing and to await extradition back to Mississippi. The Ruleville Police Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation will continue the murder investigation as things unfold.
