U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Harrisburg Rape and Assault Suspect

For immediate release

Steven Rowe, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal

Middle District of Pennsylvania
Harrisburg, PA
(717) 648-1580

Harrisburg, PA – Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Ronald Warren, a 64-year old man with no fixed address.

On May 16, 2017, the Harrisburg Bureau of Police charged Warren with Aggravated Assault after he allegedly assaulted someone with a miniature baseball bat. On June 30, 2017, the Harrisburg Bureau of Police charged Warren with a rape that allegedly occurred in December of 2015. Attempts to find Warren in Harrisburg were unsuccessful and the case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force.

Task force members investigated and learned that Warren was transient and stayed at unknown locations throughout south central Pennsylvania. In May of 2020, they learned that Warren frequented a business in the 1900 block of North 11th Street, Reading, Berks County. This morning that business was placed under surveillance and - at about 11 a.m. – task force members arrested Warren without incident. He was returned to Dauphin County for arraignment and booking.

U.S. Marshal Martin Pane said, "The U.S. Marshals Service recognizes the importance of bringing those charged with serious sex crimes to justice no matter how long it takes. We give these type of cases our utmost attention. It is my hope that the victim and family members will find comfort knowing the alleged attacker is now in custody."

The U.S. Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; the Harrisburg Bureau of Police; the Dauphin County Adult Probation Office; the Swatara Township Police Department; and, the Derry Township Police Department – all of whom participated in this investigation. The Carlisle Police Department also participated in the arrest.
