U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Kingston Shooting Suspect

Scranton, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Ronald Kent – a 42-year old Wilkes-Barre man.

On February 18, 2020, the Kingston Police Department investigated a shooting near Reese Park which resulted in the non-fatal wounding of a victim. As a result of their investigations, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Kent with aggravated assault, firearms charges and lesser included offenses. Later, the fugitive investigation was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force.

Today, at about 9 a.m., task force members checked a home in the first block of Darling Street, Wilkes-Barre and arrested Kent after he tried to conceal himself under a kitchen sink. He was turned over to the Kingston Police Department for arraignment and processing.

The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; the Wilkes-Barre Police Department; the Kingston Police Department; the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office; and, the Scranton Police Department - all of whom participated in this investigation.
