U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Apprehends Fugitive Accused of Over 100 Counts of Child Rape, Incest

Austin, TX – The U.S. Marshals-led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force apprehended a fugitive Thursday afternoon in the 100 block of Lone Star Circle in Bastrop, who was sought on over 100 counts of rape of a child by an adult and incest from an incident in North Carolina.
Cristian Cruz, 35, of Kinston, North Carolina, was wanted for 103 counts of statutory rape of a child by an adult, 103 counts of incest and 103 counts of indecent liberties with child that were issued by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina. According to the affidavit, Cruz feloniously sexually engaged with a child under the age of 13 when he was 32 years of age.
The U.S. Marshals - Carolina's Regional Fugitive Task Force in Greenville, North Carolina, conducted a fugitive investigation and developed information that Cruz fled to the Central Texas area. The regional task force requested additional assistance from the Austin based- Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend Cruz, who was believed to be working for a mobile home moving business.
Members of the task force continued the investigation which led authorities to a property in Bastrop, Texas. Cruz was arrested without incident and transported to the Bastrop County Jail where he will await extradition back to North Carolina.
