The U.S. Marshals serves as the enforcement arm of the federal courts and is involved in virtually every federal law enforcement initiative.

Below are the news releases shared across the U.S. Marshals Service’s 94 districts informing the public of the day-to-day activities ranging from fugitive arrests, asset forfeitures, prisoner operations, judicial security measures as well as highlighting individual achievements and success stories within the agency.

  • Two Murder Suspects Arrested in Unrelated Crimes

    Memphis, TN – It was a successful day for the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force as they brought in two fugitives from justice who were wanted for murder.

    On July 20, Donald Bunch was shot to death at the 1600 block of Get-well in Memphis, Tennessee. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Willie Patterson for Second Degree Murder for this crime.

    West Middlesex, PA – U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott and Portage County Sheriff David Doak, announce that late this afternoon, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF), along with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the Portage County Sheriff's Office located missing teen Cara Stefan, 14, and arrested wanted fugitive Eduardo Guerrero, 21.

    New Orleans, LA – A U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) led two-month operation in the New Orleans, Louisiana metro area has resulted in the rescue or recovery of 11 children.

    Sponsored and funded by the agency's Missing Child Unit (MCU), Operation Summer Rescue 2020 ran from Aug.1 to Sept. 30 and focused on missing and endangered runaways.

    Concord, NH – Early this morning, last week's featured "Fugitive of the Week," Alacia Renee Linville, 25 years-of-age, whose last known address was in Northfield, NH, was located and arrested at a Londonderry Hotel. Ms. Linville was being sought on a couple of outstanding arrest warrants issued by the Belknap County Superior Court.

    Jackson, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announced today the arrest of Camren Howard who was wanted by the Lake County Sheriffs Office for Escape. On Monday night Howard along with two other inmates overpowered a guard, stole jail keys and escaped the Lake County Jail where he was being held on previous charges.

    Concord, NH – In a combined effort by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Forces from both Maine and New Hampshire, last week's featured "Fugitive of the Week," Christopher Ryan Ross, 40 years-of-age of Waterboro, Maine was located and arrested early this afternoon. Mr. Ross was being sought on a federal arrest warrant issued out of the U.S. District Court in Portland, Maine.

  • U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller Announces the Capture of Murder Suspect Terrance Sanders

    Memphis, TN – Earlier this afternoon, Terrance Sanders was arrested for First Degree Murder by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Shelby County Sheriff's Fugitive Apprehension Team.

    On May 17, 2020, at the 400 block of Lane Avenue, Jacqueline Logan and Joshua Jackson were shot in a vehicle. Logan died shortly thereafter.

    Washington, DC – The U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (GLRFTF) is seeking the public's help in apprehending a man wanted for a 1998 murder in East Chicago, Indiana.

    Javier Oropesa (aka Guillermo Lanteros-Serna) is alleged to have shot Alexander Martinez in the face and head on Jan. 11, 1998, in the 400 block of Grove Street.

    On June 11, 2011, Angel Cruz Cabrera along with three other inmates, escaped from a state correctional institution in Bayamon, PR. Cruz Cabrera was serving a sentence of 60 years for robbery, attempted murder, murder and weapons law violations.
