U.S. Marshals Offering up to $10K for Info Leading to Spokane Fraudster’s Capture

Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Marshals are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the capture of a man wanted in the Eastern District of Washington on a failure to appear on a significant multimillion dollar fraud case.

William Oldham Mize, 60, has been on the run since July 10, 2019, when he failed to show up for a scheduled court appearance in the Eastern District of Washington, resulting in the issuance of a warrant for his arrest, charging him with violations of conditions of pre-trial release.

Federal prosecutors say Mize has caused car accidents, falls and other accidents in multiple states. Insurers have paid more than $6 million for his fraudulent claims.

On Dec. 18, 2018, a grand jury seated in the Eastern District of Washington found probable cause to indict Mize and various others with mail fraud, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, conspiracy to commit health care fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. The alleged criminal activity took place between approximately Sept. 11, 2013, and April 12, 2018.

Mize was arrested Jan. 9, 2019, for an outstanding warrant issued pursuant to the indictment.

Mize is known to have used numerous aliases, including Phillip Novak, Phillip Gonzalez, Phillip Boito, Bill Babaian, Bill Park, William Park, William Talento, William Westfall, Phillip Amezcua, Phillip Smith, William Smith, Will Smith, William Frangella, William Tardy, William Sharp, Phillip Tardy and Chad Harris.

Mize has been known to frequent various cities in Washington, California, Florida and Mexico, as well as Las Vegas and New Orleans. Investigators say he likes money, warm weather, marinas and a lavish lifestyle.

Mize is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 240 pounds.
