Man Wanted for Escalating Crimes of Violence Arrested in Lorain

Lorain, OH –  Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Randy Palos, 42.  Palos was wanted by the Lorain Police Department for numerous warrants as well as the U.S. Marshals Service for violations of his court ordered supervised release. 

Approximately two weeks ago, Palos burglarized the home of an ex-girlfriend and assaulted the woman during the burglary.  A warrant was issued for Palos on January 23.  Within a week of that crime Palos is accused of two more separate domestic violence incidents against the same woman and further warrants were issued.  Based on Palos’ new law violations, a federal supervised released violation warrant was issued for his arrest on January 30.  Palos was being supervised for a December 2020 conviction for federal drug charges.  Palos was released from federal custody only 8 months ago.  

According to Lorain Police, during the course of the investigation Palos made threats to further harm the victim, himself, and any police that he may encounter. Additional charges of arson are expected against Palos as he is the primary suspect in an arson that occurred over this past weekend.  

Police Chief Jim McCann stated, “The Lorain Police Department takes crimes of violence very seriously and our Police Department and the citizens of the city of Lorain will not stand for offenders such as this in our community.” 

Members of the NOVFTF were able to locate Palos in the area of East 33rd St. in Lorain.  He was arrested there without any incident and then booked into the Lorain County Jail. 

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Every day this suspect was out on the street meant another day where violence could occur, especially for the victim of his assaults.  Quick work by the Lorain Police and our task force led to a quick apprehension and a safer community in the city of Lorain.”
