U.S. Marshals Task Force Apprehend Attempted Murder Fugitive

Jackson, TN – The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) in Jackson captured Luis Fernando Sanchez-Flores, 29, today. He was wanted out of Newbern, Tennessee for Attempted First Degree Murder and Especially Aggravated Burglary.
On January 26, 2023, Sanchez-Flores allegedly broke into a residence off East Drive in Newbern and assaulted the victim with a machete. The victim was transported to a local hospital with lacerations to the head, back, arms, and hands.
On January 27, the Newbern Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Sanchez-Flores for Attempted First Degree Murder and Especially Aggravated Burglary. The case was adopted by the TRVFTF.
On February 2nd at approximately 3 p.m., the investigation led to a residence off Enochs Road in Newbern. Sanchez-Flores was safely apprehended by members of the TRVFTF and transported to the Dyer County Jail.
The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The Western Tennessee Division of the TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
