U.S. Marshals Wrap Up Operation Washout – OD3

Arlington, VA - A U.S. Marshals Service-led multijurisdictional law enforcement operation focused on apprehending violent fugitives and subjects wanted for felony narcotic violations at 12 locations throughout the U.S. has resulted in nearly 600 arrests.

From Jan. 8-Feb 2, deputy U.S. marshals, task force officers, police officers, and federal agents worked collaboratively at 12 locations throughout the U.S. to conduct five– to 10-day warrant-based enforcement operations.  

The operations aimed at combating drug related and violent crimes at locations identified with some of the highest overdose rates in the country, including Providence, Rhode Island; Baytown, Texas; Newark, New Jersey; Toledo, Ohio; Robstown, Texas; Springfield, Massachusetts; Orlando, Florida; Scranton, Pennsylvania; Charleston, West Virginia; Gresham, Oregon; Orangeburg, South Carolina; and Richmond, Virginia.  

Operation Washout – OD3 resulted in the following:

  • 736 warrants closed
  • 596 arrests 
  • 78 gang members arrested
  • 57 firearms seized 
  • 102.58 kilograms of narcotics seized 
  • $143,236 in U.S. currency seized

Of the total arrests, 78 were confirmed gang members.  In addition, 27 individuals were arrested for homicide/capital murder, 104 for assault, 80 for weapons offenses, 44 for robbery, 202 for drug offenses, 64 for burglary, 25 for sex offenses, and three for arson.
