U.S. Marshals Arrest New Jersey Escapee in Mason, OH

For immediate release

Mason, OH – The U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), U.S Marshals New York New/Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force (NY/NJRFTF), Mason Police Department, and Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested fugitive Oderi Caldwell this afternoon.

Oderi Caldwell was wanted by the New Jersey Department of Correction for escape. Caldwell escaped on April 12, 2019, from a prison facility where he was serving a sentence for a violent crime. Authorities In NJ considered him one of their most wanted and referred the case to the U.S. Marshals. After adopting the case the investigation led to the 4000 Block of Spanish Bay, Mason, Ohio. Caldwell was safely taken into custody by U.S Marshals, Mason Police, and Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Caldwell is being held at the Warren County Jail and awaits extradition back to New Jersey.

The U.S. Marshal’s Service is the nation’s primary fugitive hunting organization and captures more federal fugitives each year than all other law enforcement agencies combined.
