Memphis Safe Task Force Update: 49 Arrests, 12 Guns Recovered Wednesday

Memphis, TN - The Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF) on Wednesday executed 49 criminal arrests, including one juvenile, and recovered 12 illegal firearms.
Of note:
Quentin Burnside, 25, a known gang member, was arrested in the 2100 block of Bermuda Run for possessing a firearm during commission/attempt to commit a dangerous felony, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers recovered marijuana and Alprazolam.
Kevin Young, 25, a known gang member, was arrested at Germantown Road and Wolf River Road for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance. Officers recovered marijuana, Ecstasy, and Xanex, as well as one firearm.
Victor Washington, 40, was arrested in the 3300 block of Summer Avenue for felon in possession of a firearm and altering firearm serial numbers. Officers recovered one firearm.
Since the launch of the Memphis Safe Task Force initiative, officers have made 6,269 arrests, including 35 for homicide, 686 for controlled substances, 550 for firearms violations, and 89 for sex offenses. Of those arrested, 183 have been juveniles. The task force has seized 1,023 illegal firearms. These enforcement actions reflect a sustained commitment to reducing violent crime and removing dangerous weapons from Memphis neighborhoods.
Begun in September 2025, the Memphis Safe Task Force is a multi-agency initiative to combat violent crime in Memphis. Composed of federal, state, and local law enforcement, as well as the Tennessee National Guard, the task force is focused on arresting violent criminals, clearing warrants, seizing firearms, and locating missing children. Since the operation began, the MSTF has located 148 missing children.
This operation reflects the Memphis Safe Task Force’s commitment to coordinated enforcement efforts and its mission to identify, apprehend, and hold accountable those who pose a threat to public safety.
