Murder Suspects Among Week’s Notable MSTF Arrests

For immediate release

Memphis, TN – The Memphis Safe Task Force since Monday has executed a combined total of 101 criminal arrests and recovered 11 illegal firearms.

Of note:

Tommie Anderson, 19, was arrested Wednesday on a facilitation of attempted first-degree murder warrant issued April 24. MSTF was conducting a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Vayu Drive of a vehicle suspected of being involved in facilitation of a crime when they arrested Anderson, a suspect in an April 20 shooting in the 700 block of Williams Street.

Tyree Bryant, 28, was arrested Monday in Southaven, Mississippi, on an outstanding warrant for second-degree murder, stemming from an incident on Nov. 3, 2025. MSTF members, along with Desoto County Sheriff’s Office detectives, found Bryant cleaning his car in the 6200 block of 6215 Stafford Cove and took him into custody. He also had a Desoto County warrant for failure to appear.

“I commend the Memphis Safe Task Force for their continued diligence and dedication in daily finding and arresting those who have threatened the safety of our communities with acts of violence,” said Tyreece Miller, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee.

Since the launch of the Memphis Safe Task Force initiative, officers have made 8,650 arrests, including 64 for homicide, 954 for controlled substances, 783 for firearms violations, and 105 for sex offenses. Of those arrested, 248 were juveniles and 923 were known gang members. The task force has seized 1,418 illegal firearms. These enforcement actions reflect a sustained commitment to reducing violent crime and removing dangerous weapons from Memphis neighborhoods.

The Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF), a multi-agency initiative, was organized in September 2025 to combat violent crime in Memphis. It is composed of federal, state, and local law enforcement, as well as the Tennessee National Guard, and focuses on arresting violent criminals, clearing warrants, seizing firearms, and locating missing children. Since the operation began, the MSTF has located 150 missing children.

This operation reflects the MSTF’s commitment to coordinated enforcement efforts and its mission to identify, apprehend, and hold accountable those who pose a threat to public safety.
