U.S. Marshals Arrest Non-Compliant Sex Offender Convicted in Federal Court

For immediate release

Dresden, TN – The U.S. Marshals (USMS) Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a non-compliant sex offender wanted by the Martin Police Department.

Thomas Herr, 50, was arrested May 28, 2026, in Dresden in Weakley County, Tennessee, for Sex Offender Registration Violation after a warrant was issued in Weakley County General Sessions Court for non-compliance.

In 2010, Herr was convicted in Federal Court in Memphis for Transfer of Obscene Material to Minors. He was sentenced to 21 months of imprisonment followed by 3 years of Supervised Release. Additionally, due to Herr residing in Tennessee, he is required to register as a sex offender.

After Herr completed the term of imprisonment and Supervised Release, he did not comply with the requirements of the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Therefore, on March 17, 2026, the Martin Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Herr on the charge of Sex Offender Registration Violation.

On May 14, 2026, at the request of Martin police, the USMS initiated a fugitive Investigation and captured Herr 14 days later.
