United States Marshals Arrest Wisconsin Fugitive Wanted for Child Sexual Assault Charges

For immediate release

Paulden, AZ – A Wisconsin fugitive wanted on charges of Repeated Sexual Assault of a Child and Incest was arrested in northern Arizona on May 29, 2026, following a coordinated investigation by the U.S. Marshals Service and local law enforcement partners.

“Individuals accused of exploiting and victimizing children cannot evade accountability simply by crossing state lines,” said U.S. Marshal Van Bayless for the District of Arizona. “The U.S. Marshals Service remains committed to working with our law enforcement partners nationwide to locate and apprehend fugitives wanted for serious crimes.”

Members of the U.S. Marshals Service, working alongside the Yavapai County Gang and Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission (GIITEM), arrested Shawn Dunham, 42, at a residence in Paulden, Arizona.

Dunham was wanted by authorities in Brown County, Wisconsin, for offenses alleged to have occurred in Green Bay between 2021 and 2022. According to investigators, the victim is Dunham’s biological child, who was a minor at the time of the offenses. Authorities allege that Dunham was residing with the victim and other family members when the crimes occurred.

Investigators with the U.S. Marshals Service in Eastern Wisconsin developed information indicating Dunham had relocated to the Yavapai County area and requested assistance from Arizona deputies. U.S. Marshals and task force officers subsequently launched a fugitive investigation that included records checks, interviews, surveillance, and other investigative efforts to track Dunham’s whereabouts.

After confirming his location, officers conducted an arrest operation at a residence in Paulden, where Dunham was taken into custody without incident.

Dunham was booked into the Yavapai County Detention Center and is awaiting extradition to Brown County, Wisconsin, where he will face charges of Repeated Sexual Assault of a Child and Incest.

The United States Marshals Service is the nation’s oldest federal law enforcement agency. Annually, U.S. Marshals arrest more that 50 percent of all federal fugitives and serve more federal warrants than all other federal agencies combined.
