West Tennessee Violent Fugitive Captured in Alabama by U.S. Marshals

Henderson County, TN - A joint fugitive investigation by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) in West Tennessee and Alabama has led to the capture of a violent fugitive wanted in Henderson County.

Robert Dunaway, Jr., 31, of Lexington, TN, was wanted for Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Rape.

Following an investigation by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office into allegations, arrest warrants were issued May 15, 2026, in Henderson County General Sessions Court for Robert Dunaway’s arrest.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson to locate and apprehend Dunaway.

Deputy marshals developed information that Dunaway had fled Tennessee and was in Alabama. Investigative leads were sent to the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Alabama.

On June 5, 2026, Deputy marshals from the Gulf Coast Task Force arrested Dunaway outside a Huntsville, Alabama mall. He was transported to the Madison County, Alabama Jail as he awaits extradition back to Tennessee.
