Arlington, VA — The United States Marshals Service (USMS) Office of Public Affairs (OPA) visual production team has won a National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter Emmy Award for its production, “Forging the Star.” This victory marks the second consecutive year the team has taken home an Emmy Award, following last year’s historic win for the video “Family Since 1789.”
“Forging the Star”, examines the core identity and history of the nation’s first federal law enforcement agency. The video focuses on the symbolic and literal weight of the iconic USMS star badge, illustrating how generations of deputies inherit, uphold, and pass on the enduring values and operational mission of the service.
The production was made possible through a collaborative effort across the agency and with external partners. OPA recognizes V.H. Blackinton & Co., Inc., the manufacturer of the official United States Marshals badge, for their assistance in documenting the craftsmanship behind the star.
Furthermore, the agency commends the operational deputies nationwide whose participation and daily commitment to the mission provided the essential framework for this award-winning project.
This consecutive win highlights OPA’s ongoing commitment to communicating the vital mission, heritage, and sacrifice of the USMS through professional, high-impact visual media.
