U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force Arrests Vehicular Homicide Fugitive in Seattle

Spokane, WA - On September 8, 2026, the Washington State Patrol, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force (PNVOTF), arrested Brayan Reyes-Alvarez in Seattle, Washington, following an extensive fugitive investigation.

Reyes-Alvarez was wanted on a felony arrest warrant for two counts of vehicular homicide stemming from a wrong-way, multi-fatality collision that occurred August 8, 2026, on Interstate 90 in Grant County, Washington.

According to the Washington State Patrol investigation, Reyes-Alvarez was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 when his vehicle collided head-on with a westbound vehicle approximately seven miles west of George, Washington.

Two 23-year-old women riding with Reyes-Alvarez sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. Reyes-Alvarez and two occupants of the other vehicle were also injured in the collision. Washington State Patrol investigators believed impairment contributed to the crash.

Detectives assigned to the Washington State Patrol, Investigative Assistance Division, Narcotics Section, worked alongside Western District of Washington PNVOTF investigators to develop leads, locate Reyes-Alvarez, and coordinate his apprehension.

On September 8, 2026, investigators located Reyes-Alvarez in Seattle, Washington. When law enforcement contacted him, Reyes-Alvarez attempted to escape by jumping from a second-story window and fleeing on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, officers took him into custody.

The arrest was conducted by members of the United States Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force – Western District of Washington, assisted by the Seattle Police Department, King County Sheriff’s Office, and the Washington State Department of Corrections.

The Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force is a U.S. Marshals-led partnership comprising federal, state, and local law enforcement officers from Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. The task force’s primary mission is to locate, arrest and return to the justice system the most violent and egregious federal and state fugitives.
