U.S. Marshals in Kansas Arrest Kentucky Murder Fugitive

For immediate release

Lexington, KY – U.S. Marshals from the Eastern District of Kentucky and in the District of Kansas located and apprehended a suspect wanted in connection with the Sept. 29 hit-and-run death of a Lexington mother at a Pilot Travel Center in Mount Sterling.

After Arionne Harris, 26, was identified as the suspect and charged with murder, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) in locating and apprehending him for the alleged offenses.

U.S Marshals fugitive investigators in Kentucky developed information that Harris was likely in Kansas, just outside of the Kansas City area, and sent a collateral lead to the USMS in Kansas.

This morning, U.S Marshals in Kansas took Harris into custody without incident in Edwardsville, Kansas. Harris will be extradited to Kentucky to face his charges. Harris also has an additional warrant out of Texas for failure to report as a sex offender related to a prior rape offense.

The U.S. Marshals Service provides assistance and expertise to other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in support of their fugitive investigations and apprehending violent offenders. The U.S Marshals service is committed to a relentless pursuit of bringing violent offenders to justice.
