Fugitive of the Week Makes Arrangements to Appear in Court

Concord, NH – Last evening, the U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force was contacted by the attorney representing this week's "Fugitive of the Week," Jessica Cory Hughes. The attorney indicated that Ms. Hughes is currently in a program and they are working with the courts to get the warrant recalled and set a new date for a court appearance.

Jessica Cory Hughes, 34 years-of-age was last known to reside in Milford, NH was just featured yesterday as the "Fugitive of the Week." Ms. Hughes has an ongoing case alleging the offense of possession with intent to distribute controlled drugs – fentanyl. Hughes had previously been to court on this charge and was released on bail. This most recent warrant was issued based on the alleged violations of the conditions of her bail.

The "Fugitive of the Week" was aired on WTPL-FM, WNTK-FM, WTSN-FM, WEMJ-FM, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Foster’s Daily Democrat, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, the Rochester Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The "Fugitive of the Week" continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of over 500 fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the “Fugitive of the Week” was distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers in New Hampshire.

After being featured as the "Fugitive of the Week," several tips were received and the attorney for Ms. Hughes contacted the U.S. Marshals. The attorney was working with the US District Court, US Probation, and the US Marshals to get the warrant recalled and a new court date set for a hearing about the alleged bail violations. Ms. Hughes is currently in a program which is helping her current situation.

Since the inception of the U.S. Marshals - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 8,218 arrests (Updated as of 12/16/2020). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
