U.S. Marshals Fugitive of the Week Located in Jail

Concord, NH – Tips quickly pointed to the location of this week's "Fugitive of the Week," Brandon Carl Hanson, 34 years-of-age, was located in-custody at the Strafford County Jail in Dover, New Hampshire. Mr. Hanson was being sought on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Belknap County Superior Court for failing to appear on charges of being a felon in possession of a weapon and theft of a motor vehicle.

Hanson had been featured as the "Fugitive of the Week" just yesterday, October 14, 2020. This feature was aired on WTPL-FM, WMUR-TV, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Foster's Daily Democrat, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, the Rochester Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The "Fugitive of the Week" continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the "Fugitive of the Week," is distributed statewide to all New Hampshire law enforcement officers.

A short time after Hanson had been featured as the "Fugitive of the Week," multiple phone calls were received indicating that Mr. Hanson was currently in the Strafford County Jail being held on another criminal case. The New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force was able to confirm that Hanson was in fact in custody in Dover, New Hampshire. This information was relayed to the Belknap County Sheriff's Office and they have filed paperwork with Strafford County Jail requesting that Mr. Hanson be sent back to Belknap County upon the completion of his criminal matters in Strafford County.

Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 8,061 arrests (Updated as of 06/30/2020). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses.

Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
