Two More U.S. Marshals Fugitives of the Week Back in Jail

Concord, NH – The United States Marshals Service is very happy to announce the arrest of two more of New Hampshire's "Fugitives of the Week."

The first arrest came last night in Claremont, New Hampshire with the arrest of "Fugitive of the Week," Nathaniel Michael Plaisted, 35 years-of-age. Plaisted was arrested by members of the Claremont Police Department after an alleged shoplifting incident at a local department store. Mr. Plaisted was wanted for failing to appear on a cocaine charge out of Sullivan County Superior Court. Plaisted was featured as the "Fugitive of the Week" on October 28, 2020, which produced several tips pointing to both Claremont, New Hampshire and over the border in Vermont. This information was actively pursued by the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force along with the Claremont Police Department. Fortunately, this search came to an end last night when he was reported to police for shoplifting and was arrested without incident. Plaisted will be held at the Sullivan County Jail pending his initial court appearance on his outstanding arrest warrant.

The second "Fugitive of the Week" was arrested shortly before 2:00pm today in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Robert Shawn Audette, 31 years-of-age, had just been featured today as the "Fugitive of the Week." Audette was being sought on a federal arrest warrant issued on December 9, 2019 for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Audette was listed as Armed and Dangerous based on his extensive criminal history and prior offenses involving a firearm. Shortly after being featured, information was received from anonymous tipsters pointing to a couple of locations off Mast Road in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Members of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force conducted surveillance at these locations and observed a person believed to be Audette getting into the passenger seat of a car. This car was followed a short distance and was stopped by members of the task force. Audette was located inside the car and arrested without incident. Audette was transported to the Merrimack County Jail where he will be processed and held as a federal prisoner pending his initial court appearance via videoconference in U.S. District Court later today.

Both of these fugitives were featured as the "Fugitive of the Week" and aired on WTPL-FM, WMUR-TV, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Foster's Daily Democrat, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, the Rochester Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The "Fugitive of the Week" continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the “Fugitive of the Week” was distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers in New Hampshire.

Since the inception of the U.S. Marshals - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 8,061 arrests (Updated as of 06/30/2020). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
